Extreme dot-to-dot means hundreds or thousands of numbered dots instead of the few dozen you'd find in a kids' worksheet. More dots means finer detail, a slower reveal, and a picture that stays hidden until you're nearly done — the same idea as a regular dot-to-dot puzzle, just built for someone who wants to stay with it a while.
How extreme is extreme?
"Extreme" isn't one fixed number — dot count is the real lever. More dots means finer detail and a slower reveal, not a harder puzzle to solve. Some dedicated extreme dot-to-dot books run into the thousands of dots on a single page, often spread across a two-page spread or a full evening. Our own free library currently runs up to 192 dots on a page — plenty to settle into for a longer sitting, drawn in a geometric style you can color in once it's connected.

A note on pens
A light-colored pen — gold, silver, or white — shows up best on our darker "Midnight reveal" pages. A standard pencil works fine on the lighter printables. Either way, extreme just means more dots, not a harder puzzle to solve — no tricks, just patience.
